For three nights in a row it snowed.
Big, fat, wet, white flakes that at first sank into the water-deprived ground, and then eventually (finally overcome by the sheer volume of frozen precipitation fed by the surrounding mountains) began to settle onto the surface of the ground.
And the trees.
And the fences.
And everything else in sight.
We were greeted in the morning by cold.
And sometimes sheer blue sky.
And unexpectedly large amounts of snow in this second week in April.
For three mornings in a row we saw this.
And by the end of each day the snow was completely gone, only to be replaced again the next night.
Today and yesterday it was sunny and in the mid-50's.
But for a few nights Winter returned.
And it was beautiful...........
Winter came down to our home one night
Quietly pirouetting in on silvery-toed slippers of snow,
And we, we were children once again.
